Goodwill will be opening a new retail store in Redmond at 9 a.m. on Thursday after closing its Bellevue store tomorrow. The current Bellevue location (14515 N.E. 20th St.) will remain open through today.
The Redmond store will be located at 15301 N.E. 24th St.
After the doors open in Redmond, there will be giveaway items for the first 300 customers and drawings all weekend long.
They’ll be holding drawings for $25 Goodwill gift cards every other hour, and one winner will receive an Amazon Kindle Fire HD8 Tablet at the end of the weekend. Customers need to be present to enter, but do not need to be present to win.
On why Goodwill is moving its store less than a mile away, a press release reads, “Goodwill listened to customer feedback and the new store will have a larger sales floor and parking lot and more convenient donation drop off.”
The new store will occupy 24,091 square feet, which is 9,645 square feet larger than the current Bellevue sales floor, and will employ approximately 125 workers.
The merchandise assortment will appeal to both the budget and fashion conscious, with apparel for men, women and children, women’s accessories and home and office décor items.
“Customers who make purchases at Goodwill stores are supporting Goodwill’s free job training and education programs that help better the lives of people in the community,” the release reads.
