The Redmond Foundation has been founded in honor of Redmond’s upcoming centennial in 2012.

The Redmond Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to building a healthy, vibrant and engaged community in the city of Redmond. The new organization will partner with residents, city government and businesses to develop a shared vision for Redmond’s next century. The foundation will raise money to support projects, programs and events that improve quality of life, encourage civic engagement and support environmentally sustainable practices in Redmond.

Founding board members are Mayor John Marchione; Dan Angellar, general manager of the Redmond Marriott; Linda Bensen, director of development at Hopelink; Peter Chee, CEO of Thinkspace; Matt Loschen; former Redmond City Council member Nancy McCormick; Dr. John Midtling, clinic supervising physician at Evergreen Healthcare; Bruce Sult, principal at Falco Sult; Keri Stout, executive director of the Bellevue Family YMCA (serving Redmond, Kirkland and Bellevue); and Jason Van Nort, government and community relations manager at Puget Sound Energy.

“The work of the Redmond Foundation will provide a wonderful opportunity for collaboration with city government and Redmond’s residents and business community on programs and projects that will enhance the quality of life for the community,” said Van Nort, who is vice-chair of the board of directors.

“We are excited to begin this effort which will honor the city’s 100 year-old heritage and in turn help shape its future,” Van Nort added.
