Redmond Bike Bash will get rolling on May 20

The fifth annual Redmond Bike Bash rolls back into town on Bike to Work Day, May 20.

The fifth annual Redmond Bike Bash rolls back into town on Bike to Work Day, May 20.

The event will take place from 4-7 p.m. at the Redmond Central Connector Park between Leary Way and 161st Avenue Northeast. There will be music, food trucks, give-a-ways and bike skills clinics.

There will be a beer and wine garden hosted by Redmond’s Bar & Grill and Edge & Spoke and Element Cycles will be onsite with information on their shops.

A Kid’s Bike Rodeo will give young cyclists a chance to practice bike-handling skills in a safe and controlled setting. This year’s bike rodeo will be staffed by volunteers from the Redmond Pedestrian and Bicycle Advocacy Committee. Kids who complete the course can earn safety gear from the Redmond SchoolPool program.

The Redmond Police Department will also be selling helmets for $10.

The Bike Bash is free for all bike riders. Attendees 18 and older who log a bike commute trip on GoRedmond.com before May 20, or who bike to the event, will earn a free Bike Happy t-shirt to pick up at the Bike Bash.
