Redmond bike bash set for May 18

The community is invited to celebrate Redmond bicyclists at "Redmond's 100th Birthday Bike Bash" on May 18 from 4-6:30 p.m. at Redmond City Hall, at 15670 NE 85th St., along the Sammamish River Trail.

The community is invited to celebrate Redmond bicyclists at “Redmond’s 100th Birthday Bike Bash” on May 18 from 4-6:30 p.m. at Redmond City Hall, at 15670 NE 85th St., along the Sammamish River Trail.

The free party is on Bike to Work Day and is part of the city’s yearlong centennial celebration and a celebration of those who have made Redmond the “Bicycle Capital of the Northwest” for 100 years.

There will be free food and drink from Zeek’s Pizza, The Root Beer Store and Whole Foods Market. Bikers can pick up a new bike map and get information on biking and free Redmond sustainability resources. Attendees will also have the chance to win free giveaways and local door prizes.

“Redmond’s 100th Birthday Bike Bash” will feature live music from local bands:

  • 4-5 p.m. – The Spazmatics
  • 5-5:30 p.m. – Rockin’ Bike to Work Day with Elvis
  • 5:30-6:30 p.m. – The Afrodisiacs
