The help of the public is needed to find a driver who hit and seriously injured a jogger, then drove off without stopping.
The injured man, 36 years old, was jogging on the shoulder in the 15200 block of the Woodinville-Duvall Road in Woodinville on May 1 shortly before 5 p.m. He was hit from behind and thrown into a telephone pole about 25 feet from the point of impact.
The vehicle did not stop. It was described by witnesses as a 2003 or 2004 Nissan Pathfinder with a roof rack. The color is a light burgundy.
The vehicle had a disabled license plate, and may have damage to the hood area.
The man who was hit had very extensive bruising, abrasions, road rash, and broken bones. He was very athletic prior to the incident, and has told detectives he has severe, lingering injuries. Before the accident he could bench press 275 pounds and run “10 miles at a pop”. Now he said he can’t stand more than a few minutes in one place without getting dizzy, and has debilitating back pain.
“This has definitely altered my life,” he said.
If anyone has any information as to the driver or vehicle involved in this hit and run, they are asked to call the King County Sheriff’s Office at (206) 296-3311 (24 hrs) or 9-1-1.
