A man in his mid-20s was found unconscious this morning in a wooded area behind the Bear Creek Safeway in the 17200 block of Redmond Way, according to Redmond Police Department Lt. Charlie Gorman.
A passerby found the body and called 911 at 9:35 a.m. Police and medics arrived on the scene soon after and pronounced the man dead, Gorman said.
The area where the body was found is a known camp site for transients, Gorman said. The wooded area borders a popular recreational trail used by pedestrians and bicyclists.
Investigators are currently on the scene with members of the King County Medical Examiner’s office. The body will be transported to the Medical Examiner’s office, an autopsy will be performed and the man’s name will be released after his next of kin is notified, Gorman said.
Gorman noted that investigators didn’t find any evidence of foul play.
