Burglary: Redmond police took a burglary report at 12:15 p.m. in the 2600 block of 152nd Avenue Northeast. Officers investigated the theft of building supplies from a partially occupied apartment building, which is under construction.

Malicious mischief: Redmond police took a malicious-mischief report at 12:02 p.m. in the 11100 block of 162nd Avenue Northeast. Unknown subjects entered the courtyard of Rockwell Elementary, removed/drank beverages from the PTA closet, left items strewn across the floor and put custodian cleaning tools on the roof.

Burglary: Redmond police took a residential-burglary report at 4:23 p.m. in the 18500 block of Northeast 20th Place. Someone likely pried the rear French doors open and stole a video gaming system and jewelry.

Shoplifting: Redmond police took a shoplifting report at 1:57 p.m. in the 7200 block of 170th Avenue Northeast. Officers investigated an organized retail theft case, in which a tactical pen, knife, duck call and trapper combo, among other things, were stolen.

Malicious mischief: Redmond police took a malicious-mischief report at 9:05 p.m. in the 15300 block of Redmond Way. Someone attempted to cut a bike chain/lock on a bike locked up in a carport. The bike was not taken.

Theft: Redmond police took a report of a theft of a motor vehicle at 1:04 a.m. in the 17600 block of Union Hill Road. Officers investigated the report of a stolen Honda Civic. The owner reported the vehicle was old, requiring him to leave a key in the ignition and was unlocked when stolen.

Saturday, June 25

Shoplifting: Redmond police took a shoplifting report at 7:38 p.m. in the 17700 block of Northeast 76th Street. Officers responded to a shoplift in progress at Target when two parents, with their 8-year-old and 4-month old, concealed clothes and diapers. The parents also switched out shoes and put them on the 8-year-old. No items of significant value were taken. Target declined to pursue charges, but did request the parents be trespassed. One of the officers voluntarily paid, with his own money, for diapers and the new shoes, so the family could have necessities for their children.

Theft: Redmond police took a report of a theft from a motor vehicle at 3:23 a.m. in the 7800 block of Leary Way. Officers investigated a car prowl when a suspect shattered a rear passenger window to steal an iPad, a backpack, leather shoes and clothing. The owner interrupted the prowler and a short chase ensued, but he did not catch him. Police were called about 15 minutes later.

Friday, June 24

Theft: Redmond police took a report of a theft from a building at 4:41 p.m. in the 16300 block of Northeast 87th Street. Construction tools and an air compressor were stolen from a job site.

Theft: Redmond police took a theft report at 9:03 a.m. in the 16000 block of Northeast 51st Street. Officers recovered a reported stolen phone, when the owner was able to track it via a “find my phone” application. It was located in the bushes near a condo.

Burglary: Redmond police took a non-residential burglary report at 5:28 p.m. in the 8400 block of 164th Avenue Northeast. Officers took the report of forced entry into the closed Brown Bag Café, a secured abandoned structure.

Fraud: Redmond police took a fraud report at 3:08 p.m. in the 16200 block of Northeast 109th Street. A resident reported questionable interactions when listing a computer for sale on Craiglist, stating someone sent him a possibly fraudulent cashier’s check.

Wednesday, June 22

Trespassing: Redmond police took a trespassing report at 4:50 p.m. in the 11400 block of Avondale Road. Officers trespassed a petitioner from PCC, when reports came in that the petitioner was engaging in verbal altercations with customers and refused to leave the property when asked.

Theft: Redmond police took a report of a theft of a motor vehicle at 3:31 a.m. in the 78000 block of Leary Way. A yellow Volkswagen Beetle, along with a purse and cellphone inside, was stolen sometime after 1:30 a.m.
