Redmond High School notified the Redmond Police Department (RPD) on Monday that a group of students reported to a counselor that they overhead classmates discussing a shooting at the high school, according to a RPD press release. After RPD received the 12:30 p.m. call, an officer immediately responded and began interviewing students.
After interviews with several students and some verifications with parents, officers determined there was no credible threat.
According to the release, on Monday, a student sent a text message to two other students referencing a shooting.
Officers made contact with the student who sent the text, as well as others who were making comments in a class or may have heard comments made. The students relayed the text and comments were made in a joking manner, according to RPD.
