Officers arrest suspect for trespassing, possessing drug paraphernalia at library | Police Blotter for Aug. 3-8

Tuesday, Aug. 8

Assault: Redmond police took an assault report at 4:21 p.m. in the 7900 block of Willows Road. Officers were called to a senior housing facility to document an incident of physical contact between two individuals, both with diminished memory issues. No injuries were sustained and no charges were filed.

Arrest for suspended license: Redmond police officers responded to a call at about 4:09 p.m. from a citizen, who reported that an aggressive solicitor was asking for donations in the area of 183rd Place Northeast and Northeast 98th Place.

According to Redmond Police Department (RPD) Public Information Officer Andrea Wolf-Buck, the caller said that the solicitor claimed donations went to a charity to assist veterans. The man became verbally abusive when the complex manager informed him that soliciting was not permitted on the property.

RPD located two additional people apparently working with the first solicitor, one of whom was driving a vehicle without a valid driver’s license and was found to have a suspended license in Ohio.

Officers arrested the driver of the vehicle for driving on a suspended license and impounded the vehicle. Officers asked the other two subjects, who also were from out of state, to leave the area.

Monday, Aug. 7

Malicious mischief: Redmond police took a malicious-mischief report at 11:37 a.m. in the 14500 block of Northeast 116th Street. A caller reported the gate at the front of a business had been damaged. After investigating, officers determined damage to the gate appeared to have been caused by someone backing into it with a vehicle. There is no suspect information at this time.

Sunday, Aug. 6

Theft: Redmond police took a report of a theft from a building at 7:29 p.m. in the 14800 block of Northeast 36th Street. A personal Mac laptop was reported stolen from an office on the Microsoft campus. There was no security footage available of the office and no suspects have been identified.

Saturday, Aug. 5

Theft: Redmond police took a motorcycle-theft report at 10:12 a.m. in the 11300 block of 182nd Place Northeast. A resident reported his Kawasaki motorcycle had been stolen from his apartment complex’s parking lot sometime the night before. Investigation is ongoing.

Friday, Aug. 4

Assault: Redmond police took an assault report at 12:40 a.m. in the 17400 block of Northeast 45th Street. A caller claimed she had been assaulted in her residence by a guest staying with her. After investigating, officers determined it was a mutual argument that had transpired and no assault charges were made.

Thursday, Aug. 3

Trespassing: Redmond police took a criminal-trespassing report at 2:49 p.m. in the 15900 block of Northeast 85th Street. Officers arrested a suspect for violating a trespassing order and for possession of drug paraphernalia at the King County Library.
