A new, non-profit Redmond Chorale is being formed with dual intentions to promote performing arts in the community and give back to the community though charitable donations.
Laurie Betts Hughes, a graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and doctoral candidate at University of Washington School of Music, will direct the chorale, which will rehearse on Monday nights from 7-9 p.m., beginning on Labor Day, Sept. 6 at Meadowbrook Church, 17944 NE 65th St.
The group’s first performance will be at a holiday concert, Sunday, Dec. 5, also at Meadowbrook Church.
Vocal music experience is preferred, but not essential. Interested adults and talented high school students are invited to contact Hughes at laurie.betts@gmail.com or (425) 372-8970.
