The City of Redmond will host an open house to discuss five capital improvement projects in North Redmond, on Thursday, Dec. 3.
The event is scheduled for 7-8:30 p.m. at Washington Cathedral Recreation Center, Building 12280, 12300 Red-Wood Road NE.
One of the projects to be presented is Fire Station 17, which will be built in the 16900 block of NE 116th Avenue. Funds for construction of the Fire Station are available in the city’s capital improvement budget and funding for aid car personnel was approved by voters in fall 2007. The anticipated schedule for construction is from summer 2010 to fall 2011.
Other projects to be presented are intersection improvements at SR 202 and Northeast 124th Street, improvements to Northeast 116th Street close to the new fire station, a new stormwater pond in the Abbey Road development and a storm culvert replacement at Valley View Estates.
Mayor John Marchione and staff from the Redmond Fire and Public Works departments will be on hand to provide information and answer questions. A welcome from the mayor will begin at 7:15 p.m., followed by a short presentation and time to look at the project plans and ask questions one-on-one.
