National Night Out (NNO) is a combined effort by neighborhoods across the country to prevent crime and drugs in local communities. This event is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) and is held on the first Tuesday of August each year. The Redmond Police Department is a partner of NNO and will host neighborhood visits on Aug. 1 by Redmond police officers, firefighters, search and rescue teams and elected officials.
For downtown residents, Go Redmond is partnering with The Carter on the Park to host a Downtown NNO block party from 6-8 p.m. Aug. 1 on the Redmond Central Connector between Leary Way and 161st Avenue. For all residents, Target will be hosting a party from 4-5:30 p.m. at its Redmond store, 17700 N.E. 76th St.
According to a police press release, “NNO is about stepping out of our homes, learning more about those around us and building a safe place together. We are confident the more neighbors combine efforts and spend time getting to know one another, the safer our communities will be. Redmond’s unique community is a result of the relationships built between those who live, work and play here. As an NNO partner, we work to gather important information and share it with you during this national event. This combined city effort will help our community stay informed and stay safe.”
