Tonight, Marymoor Park Concerts promoter AEG Live will host a community open house at the Clise Mansion in Marymoor Park. Guests will have the opportunity to tour the venue learn about the concert series, learn what actions are being taken to mitigate neighbors’ concerns about sound and traffic issues on concert dates.
The meeting, set for 6-8 p.m., is one of several actions that the promoter, city and county are taking during the 2016 concert series in response to complaints that some concert sound levels were too loud, and that traffic in the community on concert dates was significantly affecting neighbors.
This year, sound levels will be monitored during each performer’s sound check and rehearsal, and performers will be notified if they are out of compliance with the policy.
King County, the City of Redmond and the Washington Department of Transportation (WSDOT) have developed several traffic flow options to ease traffic congestion immediately before and after a Marymoor concert.
Additionally, King County Parks and the City of Redmond are exploring placing temporary or permanent reader boards with concert and event alert information on West Lake Sammamish Parkway.
