City of Redmond Mayor John Marchione met with a group of Chinese exchange students Wednesday afternoon at City Hall.
A total of 33 students and two teachers from all over China arrived in Redmond on Tuesday and will be visiting until July 30. The students, who are part of the Education First Homestay program, attend Redmond Middle School in the mornings and go on field trips in the afternoons. Wednesday’s visit to City Hall was one of the students’ first field trips. Earlier in the day, they visited Microsoft’s Redmond campus.
The students are staying with host families in Redmond and will then travel to San Francisco and Los Angeles. Their main goal is to practice English and learn about American culture.
