Redmond police responded to the report of an assault in progress at 6:39 p.m. in the 9000 block of Willows Road on Jan. 19.
The suspect, a 29-year-old male had used items at a store without paying for them. When the responding officer attempted to make contact with the suspect, the suspect ran. The officer located the suspect again, at which point the suspect became aggressive and would not comply with police.
When backup officers arrived, the suspect continued to not cooperate and told the responding officer, “let’s do this,” while in a charging stance before beginning to unzip his sweatshirt. The responding officer deployed a taser at the suspect, and the officers took custody. The suspect was arrested for obstruction, resisting and theft.
