Five Lake Washington School District students will receive the National Merit College-Sponsored Scholarships.
The students are Hunter Trewin of Lake Washington High School to the University of Alabama; Stephen Fitch Jr. of Tesla STEM for Carleton College; Martin Randal of Redmond High School for Vanderbilt University; Samantha Moynihan of Eastlake High School for the University of Southern California; and Siri Mellem of Redmond High School for St. Olaf College.
The sponsor colleges select the scholarship winners from finalists in the 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program who plan to attend their institution, a press release from the school district said.
Scholarships provide between $500 to $2,000 annually for four years to undergraduates.
