As part of its commitment to improving visitor experience, King County Parks (KCP) is looking for visitor opinions: what is great about King County’s parks, trails and natural areas and what is needed in order to make them even better.
In August and September, KCP will conduct in-person surveys at a variety of locations, including Marymoor Park near Redmond, Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park near Newcastle and along the Soos Creek Trail in Kent. Special workshops are also being scheduled to gather input from younger parks visitors.
“We want to hear directly from parks and trails users about their experiences at King County Parks’ facilities so that we can help plan and prioritize for the future,” said KCP Director Kevin Brown. “Measuring customer satisfaction is consistent with King County’s strategic plan and provides us with important feedback.”
The survey teams have already conducted a youth workshop at Steve Cox Memorial Park in White Center and surveyed visitors at Marymoor Park and Tolt-MacDonald Park in Carnation. Those interested in providing their feedback online can do so beginning Aug. 17 by visiting the KCP website at http://www.kingcounty.gov/parks.
Additional in-person surveys at Marymoor Park will take place:
• Aug. 17 at Marymoor Park from 6:30–8:30 p.m.
• Aug. 22 at the concert venue at Marymoor Park from 7–9 p.m.
The survey work is being completed by Site Story, a local consulting practice specializing in community outreach, sustainability, and cultural and public open space planning. This work is funded in part by a grant from the National Center for Civic Innovation.
