Matt Isenhower (D-Redmond), candidate for the State Senate in the 45th Legislative District, has officially filed for candidacy this week with the Secretary of State.

“I am honored to make my candidacy official for the State Senate,” said Isenhower. “Democracy is about having choices and I believe the voters of the 45th district deserve a better choice this November.”

Isenhower, who grew up in Sammamish, is a Navy veteran, father of two and formerly worked in the tech sector at Amazon.com.

“Eastside families need Olympia to take real action on the issues that matter most to us, such as fully funding education without raising taxes and passing a transportation package that will ease congestion. We can do better than the inaction presided over by my opponent,” said Isenhower, who is challenging incumbent Sen. Andy Hill for his position.

Isenhower’s candidacy has garnered support from leaders such as Rep. Larry Springer, Rep. Roger Goodman and Congresswoman Suzan DelBene, in addition to local elected and community leaders.

“I am humbled by the support shown throughout the 45th district for my candidacy,” he said. “This shows that the Eastside is ready for a state senator who will put our priorities first in Olympia.”

Experienced in the private sector, Isenhower understands the challenges facing businesses and working families on the Eastside.

“Economic growth is strongest when we make smart investments in our future,” he said. “I am ready to work across the aisle to get our state moving forward again.”

Isenhower lives in Redmond with his wife April and their two young children. He is a graduate of Redmond High School, the United States Naval Academy and Harvard Business School.
