Federal Way Public Schools (FWPS) invites community members to an open house event for the Federal Way Memorial Field and Stadium from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, May 19 at the Educational Service Center.
The open house will showcase renovation plans for this community gem and provide guests and a chance to engage with the design and building team about the project.
Federal Way Memorial Field has served the local community for more than 50 years. Thanks to voter approval of the school construction bond in 2017, FWPS is able to refresh the facilities to ensure its longevity and future use by the community.
Some of the coming updates include new covered grandstands, visitor ticket booth, team rooms, equipment, turf, track surface, and more.
At the open house guests can speak to construction, architect, and FWPS capital projects teams, view architectural drawings and a fly through video, and provide feedback about the project. Community input will be heavily considered as the construction and architect teams refine the design plans before launching into the construction phase.
“It’s important that we hear the voices of our community when renovating such a special project to the Federal Way residents. We hope our open house will provide community members with a chance to not only see what’s coming soon for Memorial Field, but also share their ideas,” said FWPS Superintendent Dr. Dani Pfeiffer. “We’re so thankful to voters for approving the bond, and the final result should be something everyone in Federal Way is proud of.”
The FWPS Educational Service Center is at 33330 8th Ave S. in Federal Way.
