From left, Redmond Elementary School students Akari Otobe, Julia Rettig, Ben Fisher-Alevarez, Charlie Pangborn and Austin Rockafield compete in the one-mile race of last Saturday’s 8th Annual Hawk Walk and 5K Run event near the Redmond Town Center.
The event promoted health and fitness and raised more than $7,000 for the school. Rockafield, a sixth-grader, placed first in the one-mile race with a time of 7 minutes, 19 seconds. There was a total of 413 participants — 197 for the one-mile race and 216 for the 5-kilometer race. For complete results, go to www.redmondelptsa.org.
