More than 70 young women converged into Redmond City Hall on Saturday for the Third Annual Girls Unlimited Conference.

Attendance was at capacity crowd and City of Redmond teen programs administrator Ken Wong said while there may have been people on the waiting list it also means more energy for the next conference.

This year’s session was focused on science, technology, engineering and math.

There were presenters from Microsoft Corp., Boeing Company, PopCap Games and more. Attendees heard stories of how the presenters got into the careers they are in now. Many shared the challenges they faced.

Wong said a common theme was among presenters was encouraging the girls to follow their dreams and not let people get in the way of what they are good at or passionate about.

“Girls Unlimited it in its third year and we have tried to offer programs that inspire young women to reach for their dreams and see what they are capable of,” Wong said. “This was a great event and the problem we have now is it is at capacity and how do we keep the intimate feel so participants get to ask questions and make sure everyone gets in. I think it is a great problem to have that we are too full but we will work on creating a bigger and better event.”
