Friends of Youth has announced two new board members are joining its team for youth.
Scotty Cole is the assistant corporate controller at Bsquare Corporation in Bellevue. He takes pride in motivating, coaching and mentoring whether as a Big Brother, a Junior Achievement volunteer or a manager of a diverse accounting team.
Cecelia Porto is a senior director of finance at Microsoft Corporation. During her 15-year tenure at Microsoft, she has led many large, complex projects within the finance division. She returns to the board after serving a prior term from 2011-2013.
“We are very pleased to welcome Scotty and Cecelia to the team,” said Terry Pottmeyer, president and CEO of Friends of Youth. “Their financial experience and heart for youth will be invaluable as we embark on our new strategic plan to strengthen our support for the vulnerable youth of our community.”
Friends of Youth is a nonprofit agency that provides foster care, homeless youth services, housing, employment, counseling and prevention services for young people and their families in King and Snohomish counties. The agency is celebrating its 65th year of service to children in 2016.
