The police blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Redmond Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Redmond Reporter Police Blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Redmond, which gets more than 500 calls per week.
Wednesday, Aug. 4
The fast and the furious: Two adult males decided to race their cars toward a bar in front of an officer in an unmarked car, at Northeast 95th Street and Willows Road. The racers will be charged with reckless driving.
Fraud: Five victims reported debit card fraud in the 7200 block of 170th Avenue Northeast.
Burglary: A business in the 15300 block of Northeast 90th Street was burglarized and two laptop computers were taken. A person and vehicle were seen fleeing the area.
Tuesday, Aug. 3
Fraud: An employee of a business in the 15800 block of Northeast 85th Street allegedly altered the date of birth of one of his dependents to get a reduced cost medical insurance.
Monday, Aug. 2
Malicious mischief: Redmond police responded to a report of a malicious mischief report at a business in the 10400 block of Willows Road. The suspects were not found.
Sunday, Aug. 1
Theft: A license plate was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 9200 block of 171st Avenue Northeast.
Vandalism: Redmond police took a report of vandalism to a mailbox to a residence in the 11200 block of 132nd Avenue Northeast.
Saturday, June 31
DUI: Redmond police arrested a 27-year-old Kirkland man for investigation of DUI in the 3600 block of 148th Avenue Northeast.
Assault: A 35-year-old Redmond man was arrested in the 16600 block of Northeast 92nd Street for threatening his roommate with a gun following an argument.
Theft: A man who lives in the 18100 block of Northeast 95th Street reported that his vehicle was stolen from his apartment complex sometime overnight.
Friday, June 30
Car prowls: There were two reports of car prowls at a gym in the 7900 block of 178th Place Northeast at around 6:40 p.m. In both incidents, vehicle windows were smashed. There was nothing taken from one vehicle and in the other car prowl a bag was stolen.
Thursday, June 29
Open and closed case: A 50-year-old Redmond man was arrested after he was found with an open container of alcohol at the transit center in the 8100 block of 161st Avenue Northeast.
Vandalism: The letters on the reader board of an elementary school in the 17000 block of Northeast 104th Street were changed to read some inappropriate, offensive words. The Lake Washington School District staff was notified and the words were removed from the board.
