Fairwinds – Redmond, located at 9988 Avondale Rd. N.E., is participating in the eighth annual One Eighty/Leisure Care Pajama Drive as a “Pajama Post” drop-off location for new and gently used pajamas.

The pajama drive was born eight years ago when two One Eighty/Leisure Care employees volunteered for a day at the Wearhouse. They’d stumbled upon some pajamas in the back room and they hung them on a rack in the store. Within moments, the pajamas were spoken for by grateful foster parents who asked if there were more hiding in the back. There weren’t. The mission of the pajama drive is to ensure every foster kid who wants pajamas will have them.

All donated pajamas will go to the Treehouse Wearhouse, a free store where more than 5,000 foster kids served by Seattle-based Treehouse can shop for much-needed items including clothing, school supplies, books, toys and more.

One Eighty/Leisure Care’s goal is to collect 3,000 sets of pajamas for Treehouse, topping last year’s 2,100. Donations are being collected at Fairwinds – Redmond until Dec. 1.
