Nighttime drivers traveling on eastbound State Route 520 towards Redmond should prepare for overnight delays tomorrow and early Thursday morning. Crews working for Sound Transit will be conducting soil sample drillings for the East Link light rail project during the closure.

Crews will close the right lane of eastbound SR 520 between the 148th Ave NE interchange and NE 40th Street beginning at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 3. Crews will close the exit ramp to NE 40th Street and NE 51st Street at 9 p.m. Both the lane and ramp will reopen by 5 a.m. the following morning.

Drivers should follow the signed detour during the closure. The on-ramps to eastbound SR 520 from 148th Ave NE, NE 40th Street and NE 51st Street will remain open.
