Eastsiders looking for home care services have one more option after Executive Care opened in Bothell last month.
Aarti Bindlish, a former Microsoft employee, is the owner of the Bothell branch, which serves residents in the Northshore, Eastside and greater Seattle areas, which Bindlish said will see an increase in need for their services in coming years.
“There are 10,000 baby boomers who will turn 65 every day over the next 15 years,” across the nation, Bindlish said.
Executive Care provides in-home care for seniors and people with disabilities as well as personal care and companionship and 24-hour live-in care, Bindlish said.
They also do shorter-term services like helping people recover from injuries, surgery and have specialized training for people with conditions like diabetes and cardiac conditions.
This is the first branch of the organization in Washington state, and Bindlish said she’s excited to provide services for area residents.
“My decision to adventure into one is basically twofold,” she said. “One, I had a dream of small business ownership and two, I’ve always had a strong passion for senior care.”
Bindlish grew up in India and saw her parents taking care of her grandparents in their own home.
She said she saw the level of care and compassion it took to take care of aging relatives.
“I was very attached to my grandparents and just watching them grow old,” she said.
In particular, as an immigrant, she said many of the immigrants who come to the United States and get a career may feel guilty about not being able to take care of their families back home and aging in America can present similar problems.
Bindlish said she wants her clients’ family members to be taken care of medically but also get regular updates on their status. She said a live representative will be available at all times for family members to call in and ask about their relatives.
“We believe the nature of this business, people need to be able to reach us any time of the day,” she said.
Her goal with the Executive Care branch, she said, is to raise the bar on quality of care in the area as all their clients and caregivers work under the supervision of a registered nurse.
“I am very excited and proud to bring Executive Care to Washington,” Bindlish said.
Executive Care is a nationwide home care provider that was started in 2004.
