Evergreen opens healthline about swine flu

Have questions about H1N1, also known as the swine flu?

Evergreen Hospital Medical Center’s Healthline has recorded information about the flu and how to protect yourself and your family. Call (425) 899-4161 to hear the latest information.

Evergreen Hospital staff has been working for several months to prepare for the flu season. The hospital is immunizing its employees and volunteers for seasonal flu, including the swine flu vaccine when it becomes available.

Like health care workers, you can stop the spread of flu germs in your family by practicing good hand hygiene. Wash your hands often or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer, particularly after touching things in common areas such as door handles and handrails, and whenever you cough or sneeze. Children should be encouraged to sing the “Happy Birthday” song while scrubbing their hands to ensure they’ve done a thorough job. If someone in your family gets sick with the flu, isolate them and use masks to avoid breathing the flu germs.

The best thing you can do to protect your loved ones is get immunized against the flu. If you don’t have a primary care provider, Evergreen Medical Groups, located in Canyon Park, Kenmore, Woodinville, Duvall, Sammamish and Redmond, offer care for the entire family. Call the Evergreen Healthline at (425) 899-3000 for a physician referral.
