Redmond Police arrested 18 people, ages 17-34 years old, after breaking up a party involving illegal drugs and underage drinking at Peloton Apartments, 7435 159th Pl NE, early Sunday morning.

Nine people were arrested as a minor consuming alcohol, four were arrested for furnishing alcohol to minors and five were arrested for obstruction “because they continued to hide from police and gave inaccurate information,” according to Jim Bove, Redmond Police spokesperson.

“Of those last five, three were additionally charge with unreasonable noise and another one was charged for two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.”

In addition, two of the arrested suspects had outstanding warrants, Bove said.

Redmond Police got a call at approximately 12:30 a.m. Sunday about a noise complaint. When police officers arrived, there was a lot of noise coming from the apartment unit and several people standing outside. When the people standing outside saw the responding officers, they ran inside, “closed all the blinds and turned off the lights,” Bove said. “When we knocked on the door, nobody answered.”

The officers could smell marijuana where the people outside had been standing, Bove said.

About a half-hour later, officers received a judge-approved search warrant, entered the apartment unit, questioned the people still at the party and arrested several of them.

More than 90 open containers of beer were found by police officers, along with 20 unopened cans of beer and “a few bottles of liquor,” Bove said. In addition, a pipe and “a small amount of crack cocaine” was found, according to Bove.
