Disturbance at transit center: Suspect arrested for assault, resisting arrest | Police Blotter for June 14-20

Tuesday, June 20

Trespassing: Redmond police took a criminal-trespassing report at 7:32 p.m. in the 10200 block of 179th Avenue Northeast. A resident called police after seeing a known individual in her back yard. This suspect had previously been told to stay away from the property and left prior to officers arriving. Charges of second-degree criminal trespass will be filed against the suspect.

Sunday, June 18

Shoplifting: Redmond police took a shoplifting report at 3:32 p.m. in the 8800 block of 161st Avenue Northeast. Employees at a local grocery store observed an individual select four bottles of liquor valued at $96 and exit the store without paying. Officers located the suspect at the nearby transit center, and he was arrested for theft and booked into jail.

Saturday, June 17

Weapon brandishing: Redmond police took a weapon-brandishing report at 2:26 a.m. in the 7800 block of Leary Way. With assistance from a Bellevue K9 unit, an area search was conducted for a suspect who reportedly displayed a handgun in a threatening manner. No suspect was located. Video footage is being reviewed to verify statements given to officers at the scene.

Friday, June 16

Assault: Redmond police took an assault report at 5:15 p.m. in the 16100 block of Northeast 83rd Street. Redmond police received 911 calls of an individual who had been assaulted at the downtown transit center. Officers arrived and contacted the victim, who had been struck in the head by a glass pipe that was thrown at her. Her minor injuries were treated at the scene by personnel from the Redmond Fire Department. Numerous witnesses observed the suspect leaving the area on foot. Officers located the suspect still in the area and he was arrested for assault and resisting arrest. The suspect was booked into jail.

Thursday, June 15

Found it: An outside agency recovered a stolen vehicle at 7:34 p.m. in the 10900 block of Avondale Road. A local tow company conducted a private property impound of a vehicle later found to have been reported stolen out of Renton. A Redmond officer responded to the tow yard and processed the vehicle for evidence.

Wednesday, June 14

Fraud: Redmond took a fraud report at 5:48 p.m. in the 11600 block of 179th Place Northeast. A citizen called police after sending money out of state at the request of a family member, and now fears possibly having been the victim of fraud. Follow up is being conducted to determine if a crime took place.
