The DigiPen Institute of Technology in Redmond announced a new opportunity for fans of its students’ games to become a part of the development process.
To raise scholarship funds for DigiPen’s undergraduate and graduate students, from now through the end of July, gamers can voice their feedback on DigiPen’s student projects by contributing to the DigiPen Foundation for Education and becoming play testers.
As a play tester, each participant will help DigiPen students put the finishing touches on their games while earning a place for his or her name in the official credits. One hundred percent of participants’ financial contributions will help the next generation of DigiPen students pursue their passions to develop even more innovative interactive experiences.
How it works
After making a tax-deductible donation of $10 or more to the DigiPen Foundation for Education during the months of June and July, participants will receive links to six of this year’s top DigiPen student PC games to download and play test, as well as links to the specific feedback forms. The student teams behind these games are looking for a diversity of opinions and ideas and will evaluate this feedback at their discretion for possible implementation into their games. Regardless of whether an idea or suggestion is adopted, at the end of the testing period, these six teams will release final builds that credit everyone who shared their thoughts as official play testers.
