Development fulfills ‘need in the community’

With no buy-in required, three styles of apartment homes are available at market rate to qualified renters. Residents can move in with just a $40 application fee and refundable security deposit, depending on their credit report results.

“We wanted to provide a fantastic atmosphere for individuals who have acquired a lot of wealth in their home and want to use and access that money, and enjoy all the same attributes as a buy-in,” explained Bradley Karvasek, vice president of development for Equity Residential, Inc.

“Reunion at Redmond Ridge was built to provide residents with a stress-free lifestyle, without having the burden of having to buy into a new home. We specifically designed three distinctive home options so residents can choose the home that best suits their needs. By being the only rental community on Redmond Ridge for adults 55-plus, we have responded to a definite need in the community,” he said.

Attractive features of Reunion at Redmond Ridge include lots of storage space for people who are downsizing from larger homes and close proximity to shopping, restaurants and recreation, said Karvasek.

The three product types are flat homes, carriage homes and town houses.

The flats, featuring up to 1,269 square feet, are available in studio, one-bedroom or two-bedroom combinations, in four-story buildings with elevator service. Each unit features modern kitchen appliances, a full-sized washer and dryer, dishwasher, nine-foot or higher ceilings, extra-wide doorways, extra closets and patios/decks on select units.

Two or three-bedroom carriage homes have the same amenities plus direct access to a single-car garage and offer up to 1,618 square feet of space.

The multi-level town homes are available in two or three-bedroom plus den combinations and include the same amenities of the flats and carriage homes, as well as direct access to a double-car garage. Town homes are up to 1,721 square feet.

“There’s something for most everybody,” said Karvasek.

Residents seem to like their private living spaces but also having opportunities to socialize in common areas, he added.

There are spacious recreation centers equipped with big-screen TVs, Nintendo Wii systems and board games, a library and Internet cafe, barbecue areas, fitness centers with exercise machines and free weights and community activities such as “Monday Night Football,” “Tuesday Night ‘Dancing with the Stars’,” a group that makes blankets for charities, a Bible study group, scrapbooking group and more.

“This isn’t a senior home — it’s for active adults,” Karvasek noted. “This has a village concept with the nearby QFC and walking trails. The golf course across the way (Trilogy) is a public course and residents here get a discount. We have a shuttle to Redmond Town Center. Upcoming events include book signings, an art show and cooking class.”

The average age of residents at Reunion at Redmond Ridge is 69 and the development is currently about 26 percent occupied.

Prospective residents, friends and family members can drop in for a tour anytime during regular business hours, which are 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday; 9:30 a.m.-7 p.m. on Thursday; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday; or 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, said leasing consultant Kelley Rose.

Most residents have 12-month leases but six-month leases can be arranged for those who spend part of the year in a warmer climate or otherwise don’t want to commit to a full year, she said.

The community is also pet-friendly although certain breed restrictions apply.
