King County Executive Dow Constantine (left) and Redmond City Council member John Stilin join Beth de Young, general manager of Zodiac Lighting Solutions DBA, IDD Aerospace, which hosted the Aerospace Aviation Alliance quarterly meeting on June 5 at the company headquarters in Redmond.

Constantine convened the King County Aerospace Alliance (KCAA) to unite local jurisdictions, public sector groups, business and labor toward fostering the long-term economic vitality, growth and global competitiveness of the local aerospace industry — a major and indispensible source of family wage jobs in King County.

Zodiac Aerospace specializes in designing and manufacturing illuminated products for flight-deck and aircraft interior applications. With employees in the Redmond facility, they ship about 20 percent of their business locally with the remainder shipping globally to customers in North America, South America, Europe and Asia.
