The City of Redmond is planning to create a Downtown Central Park — and it wants your input.

The city is hosting two public open house meetings to discuss the future of this park. The first is on Thursday, July 23 at 7 p.m. in the Lake Washington School District Resource Center, 16250 NE 74th Street in Redmond Town Center. The second is on August 10 at the same time and location.

The July open house will present information about the site selection process undertaken so far and the vision for the future development of this new park.

“The new Downtown Central Park will be a treasure to the community,” said Mayor John Marchione. “It provides a destination for residents and workers. The park will strengthen neighborhood connections and reinforce the historic ‘heart’ of Redmond.”

It would become downtown Redmond’s living room; a place filled with life and activity, surrounded by economic vitality and interest that celebrates Redmond’s past, present and future, Marchione said.
