The City of Redmond will host a stakeholder meeting on July 20 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the City Hall chambers, 15670 N.E. 85th St., to discuss the results of the comprehensive user fee study that reviewed costs associated with the city providing development-related services.

The last time the city updated its development-related user fees was 2005.

This study updates the current fee schedules, expands upon the methodology to calculate the building and safety plan review and permit fees and develops new fees for services provided by city staff where no fees currently exist.

The fees are being reviewed at this time to take into account changes in Redmond’s zoning code and permit processes and to simplify the fee structure as the city moves to its new permitting software.

On July 26, the City Council will hold a study session to further discuss the potential fee changes. While no public comment is taken at the study session, a public hearing will be held on August 16 during the City Council business meeting, which begins at 7:30 p.m. to give additional opportunities for the community to voice their opinion. Council is also scheduled to adopt any changes in the fees that night.
