City Hall to host reception for women’s artists exhibit

There will be a free opening reception from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Redmond City Hall, at 15670 N.E. 85th St., for a new art exhibition called "In the Palm of Her Hand."

There will be a free opening reception from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Redmond City Hall, at 15670 N.E. 85th St., for a new art exhibition called “In the Palm of Her Hand.”

A number of artists with artwork on display will be in attendance and there will be light refreshments provided by the City of Redmond Art Program.

“In the Palm of Her Hand” celebrates the work of women artists and features an eight-foot tall ceramic sculpture, glass art, wood puzzles, lithograph and mixed media artwork by national and international artists including Niki de Saint Phalle, Gwen Knight, Jaune Quick-to-See Smith, Ginny Ruffner, Cappy Thompson, Gail Tremblay, Patti Warashina and Elizabeth Woody.

The exhibition is made possible by a loan from the Microsoft Art Collection and promotional partnership from Seattle Art Museum and their exhibition “Elles: Women Artists from the Centre Pompidou, Paris.”
