A 46-year-old Bellevue man has been charged with murder after allegedly assaulting a man in 2019 and leaving him on a Redmond roadway.
Based on anonymous tips and what the Redmond Police Department is calling a thorough investigation, detectives arrested Bradley Hibbard on June 2 on a charge of murder in the second degree.
Detectives reported that on July 29, 2019, Hibbard assaulted 38-year-old Francis Gaspar of Seattle. Hibbard is accused of then leaving Gaspar on the roadway near the intersection of West Lake Sammamish Parkway NE and Leary Way in Redmond.
A passing motorist noticed Gaspar lying in the street and called 911. Redmond fire personnel treated Gaspar at the scene and transported him to a nearby hospital where he died from injuries he suffered during the assault. He suffered multiple abrasions and lacerations as well as severe head trauma.
Hibbard was leaving court in Kent on an unrelated offense when Redmond detectives arrested him and transported him to King County Jail. Bail is set for $2 million.
