Redmond-based Áegis Living recently hired its first chief wellness officer and medical director, Dr. Shirley Newell. Dr. Newell brings more than 30 years of experience to Áegis Living, a national leader in senior assisted living and memory care.
Dr. Newell’s career has included inpatient and outpatient medicine with an emphasis on geriatric and internal medicine. She has experience in establishing geriatric clinical programs, devoted time to nursing home care and served as medical director at Ida Culver Nursing Home and most recently was the medical director at Symetra. She previously practiced internal and geriatric medicine at the University of Washington, Providence Medical Center, Northwest Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital.
