AAUW (American Association of University Women) Kirkland-Redmond Branch is hosting a panel discussion on issues surrounding the proposed changes in the health care system at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, in the auditorium at Evergreen Hospital and Medical Center 12040 NE 128th St., Kirkland.
Refreshments will be served at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting, which is open to the public, begins at 7 p.m.
At Evergreen, park in the Silver Zone. The hospital auditorium is located in the Red Zone.
Chelene Whiteaker, policy analyst at the Washington State Hospital Association and Dorothy Teeter, chief of health operations, for Public Health in King County, will provide information about the impact the most current proposals from Washington, DC will have on health care for patients, hospitals and those who depend on the safety net provided by public health from the perspectives of their respective organizations.
The panel will be moderated by Judith Turpin, past AAUW Washington president and AAUW-WA Public Policy Chair. Rebecca Hirt, AAUW Kirkland-Redmond treasurer and a member of the board of commissioners is facilitating this meeting.
Each of the representative organizations support changes to the current health care system that will assure that all patients have access to high quality health care.
