Back for its second consecutive summer, Eastside residents can take a shuttle to Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle.
In addition, Metro riders will get $2 off admission to the zoo.
Through Sept. 2, the Eastside shuttle will run between Bellevue and the zoo on Saturdays and Sundays every 45 minutes from 9:15 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. Riders can hop on the zoo shuttle at the east end of Crossroads mall at 15600 N.E. 8th St. in Bellevue. Reservations are not required; availability is first-come, first-serve.
Shuttle fee is $2 round trip for each rider ages 13 and up; free for 12 and under. The fee is paid at either ZooStore before guests depart for return trip to Eastside. Credit cards and cash are accepted.
The executive mini coaches, provided by SP Plus Transportation, seat up to 25 people, are equipped with eight car seats, and include compartments for strollers and belongings so families can ride comfortably to the zoo.
For other alternative transportation, get a discount of $2 off zoo admission by taking Metro public transportation to the zoo. Use a valid Metro bus transfer or ORCA card as proof of ridership and present to any zoo admissions gate to redeem the discount.
The Eastside shuttle service and Metro discounts are designed to encourage eco-friendly alternative transportation options, help zoo patrons save on the cost of gas, tolling and parking, and reduce the impact of traffic and overflow parking on the surrounding neighborhoods during the zoo’s peak summer season.
