The Washington State Horse Park, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization operating a 112-acre equestrian facility located in Cle Elum, will be holding its first ever “Unbridled Evening” fundraising gala event this Saturday at the Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish. The event will host nearly 300 supporters, sponsors and volunteers raising proceeds to help cover annual operating costs and future development initiatives.
The evening will feature keynote speaker and Olympic gold medalist David O’Connor, a decorated equestrian in the “eventing” world who currently owns and operates two equestrian training facilities in Virginia and Florida, with his fellow international event rider and wife, Karen O’Connor.
The evening’s program will be hosted by emcee, Jeff Renner, the former King 5 news anchor and will include silent and live auctions, raffles, speakers and entertainment. Items and services, donated from Park supporters statewide, will be up for auction, including but not limited to a 2016 Ford Mustang, a Maverick Deluxe Horse Trailer and a Seahawks fan package to a game in San Francisco. Additionally, there will be bidder opportunities for prizes, a dessert dash and other fun activities to raise funds for the Park.
Business sponsors and supporters include the Seattle Seahawks, the USGA, Suncadia, chef John Howie, Schwartz Brothers Restaurants, Hilton Hotels, 14 Hands Winery, Les Schwab, Microsoft Matching Gifts, Adobe, Rebecca Farms, Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital, Valley Veterinary Hospital and many more. A number of Kittitas County and King County small businesses are donating products and services to ensure an enjoyable evening for all guests in attendance.
A few tickets remain available and can be ordered by sending an email to the event volunteers at: gala@wahorsepark.org. Additional information is available at www.wahorsepark.org.
