Evergreen Junior High PTSA, in cooperation with SecondStory Repertory Theatre, will present “Thoroughly Modern Millie, Jr.” on March 11-13 at the Redmond High School Performing Arts Center, 17272 NE 104th St. Performances are at 7 p.m. nightly with a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday, March 13.
Tickets are $5 for students and seniors and $7 for adults if pre-purchased before March 4; or $6 and $8 after that date.
This youth version of the 2002 Tony award-winning musical comedy tells the story of Kansas native Millie Dillmont and her adventures in New York City of the 1920s.
“Millie” is directed and choreographed by Kelly Wills, with Lyndee White as the musical director. Both are professionally associated with SecondStory Repertory, which will also provide assistance with period costumes and set pieces.
Producers are Judy Russo, Gretchen Loschen and Heather Hein.
The show features several “show-stopping” tap ensemble numbers, so all cast members are learning rudiments of tap as part of their training for this musical.
Evergreen students will also serve backstage in all positions, from stage manager to lighting director.
