Were you or your baby born at Swedish Medical Center? If so, dust off your photo albums and send in your best baby shots — whether your photographs are from 1910, 1939, 1999 or 2009. Swedish wants to see them.
In honor of its 100th year of non-profit service, Swedish wants to recognize some of its patients through a search for photos of babies born at any birthing center which is now part of Swedish Health Services, including Swedish Hospital (Swedish First Hill, Swedish Ballard and Swedish Cherry Hill), Doctors Hospital, Seattle General Hospital, Ballard General Hospital, Ballard Community Hospital and Providence Seattle Medical Center.
Since opening its doors in 1910, more than 200,000 babies have been born at Swedish Medical Center.
“Swedish is iconic in the community as a place to have your baby,” said Cal Knight, president and chief operating officer at Swedish Medical Center. “We often meet people in the community who are proud to tell us that they were born at Swedish or had their children here. For our 100th anniversary, we want to celebrate that and reunite with patients through photos.”
Entries for the cutest Swedish baby photo contest will be accepted online starting today, April 6, through June 1.
Three winners will be selected in each category. Grand prize winners will receive a two-night stay for four people to Great Wolf Lodge and a $300 gift card to spend at the lodge during their stay (approximate retail value of prize is $1,000).
Six categories of baby photos are being sought:
