Shakespeare spoofs: Evergreen Family Theatre takes a zany approach to classic works

Evergreen Family Theatre presents “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare” (abridged) by Adam Long, Daniel Singer and Jess Winfield, April 1-17 at RedWood Family Church, 11500 Red-Wood Rd., Redmond.

“The Complete Works of William Shakespeare” (abridged) takes a zany “Monty Python meets the Marx Brothers” approach to spoofing scenes from “Romeo and Juliet,” “Titus Andronicus,” “Othello,” “Hamlet,” “Macbeth,” “Antony and Cleopatra” and other famous works.

The show is suitable for kids and adults of all ages, although those 10 years and under might not appreciate all the humor. High school and junior high groups are encourged to attend “in droves.”

Curtain time is 7:30 p.m. for performances on April 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 15, 16 and 17; with matinees at 2 p.m. Saturdays, April 3, 10 and 17.

An Opening Night Special will be held on Thursday, April 1: Buy one ticket and get one free. Tickets are $14 general admission or $12 for seniors and students.
