MAINSTAGE SHOWS

Subscription packages and single tickets for the first production, “Dinner with Friends,” running Aug. 27-Sept 18, 2010, are available online, in person and over the phone.

• “Dinner with Friends” won the Pulitzer Prize in 2000 and was made into an Emmy-nominated TV movie in 2001. It tells of two couples, longtime friends, who are rocked to the core when one pair decides to divorce.

• “The Turn of the Screw,” adapted from the Henry James novella, runs Oct. 1-23, 2010.

• Shakespeare’s romantic comedy “Much Ado About Nothing” runs Feb. 4-26, 2011.

• “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” running April 1-30, 2011, began life as an improv comedy show and then became a Tony Award-winning Broadway smash.

• The mainstage season wraps June 3-25, 2011 with “On Golden Pond.”

CHILDREN’S MUSICALS

SSR’s four-show children’s series, recommended for ages 4-12, will include:

• “Harriet’s Halloween Candy,” Oct. 29-Nov. 14, 2010.

• “Sleeping Beauty,” Jan. 7-23, 2011.

• “The Boy Who Cried Wolf,” March 4-20, 2011

• “A Year with Frog and Toad,” May 6-22, 2011

SPECIAL EVENTS

• The second annual “Thrill the World” Zombie Dance and SSR fundraiser is slated for Saturday, Oct. 23 at Redmond Town Center.

This year, as part of the region-wide Arts Crush festival, SSR will try to top the 300 dancers and 2,000 spectators who showed up last year to perform Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” dance.

Starting Sept. 11, Teresa Osborn will lead free dance workshops at the Redmond Senior Center, every Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon, through Oct. 16. Visit www.RedmondZombies.com for details and to sign up.

• Weekends with Split-Second Improv will take place at 9 p.m. on Oct. 29-Nov. 13, 2010; Jan. 7-22, 2011; March 4-19, 2011; and May 6-22, 2011. It’s never the same show twice. On “Family Friendly Fridays,” all comedy material is PG-13. On “Sinful Saturdays,” the show is for adults only.

• Saturdays with musical performer Dan Connolly are scheduled for Nov. 20, 2010; Jan. 29, 2011; March 26, 201l; and May 28, 2011 at 8 p.m.

• The SSR Teen Musical, “Children of Eden” runs Dec. 3-23, 2010.
