“The Seven Year Itch,” an expression referring to the sexual unrest some couples experience after seven years of marriage, was the invention of playwright George Axelrod in his play, later made into the well-known movie starring Marilyn Monroe.
Richard Sherman has a wife, a young daughter, a demanding job and all the day-to-day stress he can handle. Stuck at home, working while his family enjoys a summer vacation, Richard is soon indulging in daydreaming flights of fancy and facing temptations from all angles, including a gorgeous young woman who literally drops into his life.
Performers in Redwood Theatre’s production of “The Seven Year Itch” include Sean P. O’Bannon, Cassie Townsend, Amanda Moniz-Falcone, Monica Chilton, Serena DeMello, Iris Melton, Kelley Faulkner, Tom Fraser, Dan Jordan, Jenni Monahan, and Jason Pead.
