Redmond native Katie Black, a professional dancer who was profiled in the May 7 issue of the Redmond Reporter, will be among guest presenters for Dance Education Week at the Village Theatre in Issaquah, June 30-July 3.
Following each of five shows that week, a different member of the acclaimed “42nd Street” cast will present a unique Talkback about their artistic journey and what it means to be a dancer in a professional production.
Black will be featured after the 2 p.m. Saturday, July 3 show of “42nd Street.”
As well as being a professional dancer, Black is a choreographer, master class teacher, national dance competition adjudicator and certified yoga instructor. She is opening Ignite Dance and Yoga in North Bend this August.
Dance Education Week is open to everyone, dancers and non-dancers alike. As a tribute to all young dancers in training, Village Theatre is offering 50 percent off youth tickets (for age 21 and under).
All aspiring dancers currently enrolled in dance education programs can see “42nd Street” for just $11.50-$29.50 per ticket from June 30-July 3. This offer is subject to availability and does not apply to previously purchased tickets.
Those interested in arranging tickets can contact the Village Theatre box office at (425) 392-2202. To take advantage of the 50 percent off youth ticket price, patrons simply need to tell the box office associate what dance school they or their child are currently attending.
The Village Theatre is located at 303 Front St., Issaquah. For more information, visit www.villagetheatre.org.
