Redmond High’s drama department receives six 5th Avenue Awards nominations

Redmond High School has received six 5th Avenue Awards nominations for its production of "Little Shop of Horrors."

Redmond High School has received six 5th Avenue Awards nominations for its production of “Little Shop of Horrors.”

The production was nominated in the following categories:

  • Outstanding Direction: Misty Doty
  • Outstanding Choreography: Niki Russo
  • Outstanding Orchestra: Minna Stelzner, Sarah Du, Sierra Allen, Sarah Hughes, Liz Plaisted, Kristen Higashi, Jacob Kappes, Kirk Gysler, R.C. Leonard, Albert Daschle, Andra Atvars, Gabe Wilcox, Tina Joehnk, and Andy Robertso
  • Outstanding Lighting Design (Honorable Mention) Ruth Barton
  • Outstanding Stage Crew: Liza Vaughn, Erin Johnson, Eric Burlingame, Rosalyn Leban, Mandi Eatough, Sarah Fugman, Gavin Lee, Alana Mousseau, Lauren Beehler, Joshua Francois, Rebekah Jazdzewski, Ben Sechrest and Jacob Grant
  • Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble Group: Dani Hobbs, Grace Lindsey and Rachel Horne

Each year, the 5th Avenue Theatre travels to schools across Washington to honor the work, talent and commitment that students, parents and faculty devote to their school’s yearly musical productions and to celebrate the value of high school theater programs. This year, the program visited 93 productions and reached more than 9,000 students statewide.

This year is the 10th anniversary of the 5th Avenue Awards.
