A poetry reading and book launch party will celebrate the release of Mary Elizabeth Anderson’s “Seasons of Hope: A Poetic Guide to Healing and Renewal,” a book which combines self-help and personal growth tips with poetry.
The event is scheduled from 1-4 p.m., with the poetry reading at 2:15 p.m., on Sunday, Nov. 15 at SoulFood Books and Cafe, 15748 Redmond Way.
Each of the 52 poems in Anderson’s book is paired with thought-provoking questions designed to prompt life-enhancing action, according to Anderson.
“I wanted to support readers in examining the poem through the lens of their own life experiences,” said Anderson. “Poetry tends to come from a very personal place, but the themes are universal.”
Anderson holds a master’s degree in applied behavioral science from the Leadership Institute of Seattle (LIOS) at Bastyr University.
Copies of her book are available at www.MaryElizabethAnderson.com and at Amazon.com.
