LINKS needs Lunch Buddies for elementary students; volunteer to mentor a child

LINKS (Looking Into the Needs of Kids and Schools) is recruiting community volunteers to be Lunch Buddies at elementary schools in the Lake Washington School District (LWSD).

With the school year well underway, the need for LINKS Lunch Buddies in the Lake Washington School District is growing. The organization has seen an increase in the need for male lunch buddies. Many LWSD boys and girls are on a wait list in the Redmond, Sammamish and Kirkland communities.

The Lunch Buddy Program is a way for caring adults to help local elementary students succeed. Volunteers mentor students by meeting with them once a week and by acting as a positive role model. Lunch Buddies eat lunch together, play games, share talents or just talk. It’s an opportunity to make a life-long impact on a child.

Mentored students are more likely to do better in school, say NO to drugs and say YES to college! Please help LINKS make a difference.
