Village Roadshow Gold Class Cinemas at Redmond Town Center is offering a special “Julie & Julia” experience during the film’s run in August.

Moviegoers will enjoy a menu based on Julia Child’s celebrated recipes while sitting in comfortable reclining seats, bringing new meaning to the saying, “Let’s go out for dinner and a movie.”

For this special event, some of Child’s distinctive dishes are brought to life and featured on the Gold Class Cinemas menu, including Red Wine Marinated Beef Satay, Classic Quiche Lorraine and Lange De Chat. Prices range from $8-14 per dish. Patrons can also order any choices from the regular menu, as well.

Gold Class Cinemas has gone a step further to celebrate “Julie & Julia” by offering live cooking demonstrations by its executive chefs on Aug. 13, 19, 20, 23 and 26. A Gold Class Cinemas chef will prepare Child’s famous dishes and serve them straight to patrons’ seats.

On those dates, the cooking demonstration will begin promptly at 6 p.m. and the film will begin at 6:45 p.m. Cost is $59 for non-members and $49 for members (excluding tax and gratuity).

This price includes a “Julie & Julia” movie ticket, the live cooking demo, a choice of any two menu items, two drink tickets and a “Julie & Julia” promotional item.

For each item purchased, Gold Class Cinemas will donate to Food Lifeline, a local organization with is working to end hunger in local communities. Food Lifeline distributes nearly 22 million pounds of food to 600,000 hungry individuals each year.
